Dr. Eugenia Wang, Professor
Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, McGill University

For fifteen years Dr. Wang has been a leader in the field of aging research and apoptosis, the process of programmed cell death. She was one of the earliest researchers that identified genes and proteins which served to accelerate or retard the process of apoptosis. Her laboratory currently investigates human longevity-assurance genes (hLAG), which keep essential homeostatic molecular processes operational to extreme old age. Using various molecular and biochemical methods and biochip technology, her lab is performing gene screening methodology to identify hLAG genes. Currently Dr. Wang operates laboratories in the Bloomfield Centre and at the University of Kentucky in Louisville, KY.
